Haven't Tried Discount Cards?  Learn What You're Missing Out On!

Discount cards have been around for a long time, a method for churches, school groups, sports teams and other organizations to raise funds.  Still, it's amazing how many groups have yet to give them a try, and it's really a shame considering how easy and profitable they are!  If you have thought about it in the past when it came time to raise money for a special project or simply to pay the bills but then fell back on those old "reliable" methods you have used over the years to raise funds, it's time to learn what you may be missing out on.

Discount cards are more profitable than you can imagine.  No matter what products you have relied on in the past to raise funds (cookie dough, jerky, popcorn, candles, chocolate bars, catalog sales, etc.), chances are they were not as profitable as discount cards.  In general, most products offer a profit margin of about 50% or 60%.  Imagine if you could sell a card for $10 and earn profits of 70%, 80% and even more!  If you have a size able group of people who will be doing the selling, it's easy to raise tens of thousands of dollars.

Even small groups of 20 or 30 can enjoy 50% profit margins, which on $10 per card isn't too shabby - that is $5 per card, so if your group sells only 200 cards you have raised a cool $1,000!   However, larger groups can really pull in huge profits; for instance, if you have around 200 people who will be selling (which could be the entire 5th grade class at the grade school), it's easy to sell 2,000 cards, and you get 400 free.  Sell all 2,400 cards, and your profits are $20,500 - this is incredible in anyone's book!

Have customers in the past been anxious to buy the product you used for fundraising?  To be honest, most people don't really need a candle, jerky, or a fancy vase out of a catalog - which means fewer people buy than they would if it was something they really needed.  With discount cards, customers easily see the value, and the potential to save a lot of money over a one-year time period.  These cards are filled with discount savings and buy-one-get-one-free offers at a dozen or more merchants in the local community.  Fast food, high-end restaurants, car services, hair salons, the local gym, family activities - considering that the cards can be used as often as the card bearer wants to use it (most merchants limit use to once per day), you can imagine the savings over a year.

It's a good feeling for the customer when he or she knows that spending just $10 can amount to saving potentially hundreds of dollars!  The point is, customers are far more likely to buy a product that offers them real value for their money, instead of tossing it away on things they don't need or want.

Are you tired of all the preparation and work involved?  To be honest about it, many methods used to raise funds involve a lot of hard work and preparation.  With discount cards, you can eliminate all of the hassle and actually enjoy your fundraiser.  No price tags to stick on, no baking, no washing cars, no toting cartons or boxes filled with candy bars or cookie dough around - it's just plain easy.  Get the merchants in your local community to participate by offering a deal on your cards (or have the card company take care of this for you), order the number you need, and when they arrive you're ready to go!

Now you know what you're missing out on if your group or organization has yet to give discount cards a try - and you know what to do for your next fundraiser!
