Over the years, countless church and school groups, sports teams, and other organizations have relied on discount cards for fundraising, and it's no surprise really, given their profitability and ease of selling.  If your organization has never given this tried-and-true method a chance, why not?  Perhaps you're not familiar with how they work, how profitable they are, and the incredible benefits over other products typically used to raise money.  If you're interested in finding out more about why you should consider discount cards for fundraising, read on.

The easiest way to raise funds, period.  Considering that there are always storage and spoilage issues with some food products (cookie dough, candy bars, etc.) and those who do the selling have to lug around cartons and boxes, it just makes sense to offer cards that allow the card-bearer to save money.  Not only can you do away with the catalog sales, delivering product, taking orders, lugging boxes around and wondering where to store them, they're far easier to sell, because they are seen as more of a "necessity" in the buyer's eyes instead of frivolous.  Organizations who choose discount cards for fundraising find that all around, it's just the easiest way to go.

Profits are almost unbelievable when compared to other products.  Sure it's fun to sell candy bars, and people love them - but they don't always have the money to spend on unnecessary purchases, and the profits aren't so great.  Why wear yourself out selling 1,000 candy bars to raise $1,000, when you could reach the same amount of money with selling only 200 discounts cards (or fewer, depending on the size of your group and profit margins)?  With discount cards for fundraising, the profits go higher the larger number of cards you order, so it stands to reason that really large groups can make a ton of money.  Still, even small groups who order only 250 cards enjoy $5 per card profit, not too shabby when compared to other fundraising products.

Customers love them, and even purchase them year after year.  Who doesn't love saving money on things they normally spend on anyway, like burgers, shakes, a hair cut, bowling for the family, an oil change for the car, or maybe a membership at the local gym?  Imagine how much the customer saves over the course of one year, when there are a dozen or more merchant offers on the backs of the cards!  Most people enjoy a burger and fries fairly often, get their hair cut every couple of months, and the oil changed in the car after 3,000 miles or so.  The savings really add up!  This makes the selling much easier for your group, as they won't have to "convince" the customer that it's a great deal.

Even merchants enjoy participating in your fundraiser, not only because it demonstrates to the community that they support a good cause, but it increases the merchants' exposure when their "deals" are offered on the backs of your cards, helping them attract new customers.

Your group’s work is easier, because there is virtually no planning or prep-work involved.  Just decide which merchants you want to participate in your fundraiser, then handle contacting them yourself, or let the card company do it for you.  Order the number you need, and when they come in, your organization is ready to start selling.

Now you can see why we say that discount cards for fundraising offers amazing results, because it's absolutely true.  Why would you want to do it any other way?
